Summer Season 2018
Yet another summer season has come to a close, with our last event taking place on the weekend of 8th & 9th of September.
Due to the extremely bad winter with lots of snow & rain the ground was far to wet to run our first event in April, so only 5 events took place this summer. That being said it proved to be a very successful season yet again with both One Day and Two Day events being fully supported by our members.
The club was also lucky enough to be able to host a qualifying event for the Evolution Class for the third year. This took place at our July. This was also well supported again this year with competitors travelling from far and wide to compete.
Membership continues to grow seeing lots of drivers from outside of Wales joining and fully supporting the club throughout the summer.
As well as our regular stalwarts who steward at every event we have also seen some new faces here too. I am sure our drivers would like me to thank you all for your support as without you they would be unable to compete. The committee would also like to thank anybody that has helped out in any other capacity during the summer.
The season was finished off with our presentation evening which was held on the field at the September event with a BBQ. Thanks to Dominic Carter for bringing along his BBQ & expertly cooking the food for us.
We now have the winter season starting which we hope will be just as successful then we start all over again for summer 2019.
Club Champions for this season were:
One Day Event;
Novice Champion Katie Davies
Open Champion Alison Dascombe
Two Day Event:

Thanks also to all our sponsors for their continued support.

Club Safeguarding
“Dear Member/venue,
You may be aware of the recent media coverage of issues relating to sexual abuse of children in football. It is extremely distressing that children involved in any sport may be vulnerable in this way, and I am sure you would agree that we must do all we can to prevent such things happening.
British Carriagedriving and Eppynt Carriage Club Ltd take the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults extremely seriously and, with the advice and support of the British Equestrian Federation and the Child Protection in Sport Unit, are committed to continuous improvement. A copy of British Carriagedriving’s Safeguarding Policy is available via the BC web site.
We would like to remind you that our Safeguarding Officer, Geraldine Messenger or Steph Price are available as your point of contact and can be contacted, in confidence, by e mail e.c.c.ltd@hotmail,co.uk at any time. Alternatively, you can contact the BC Safeguarding Officer, John Anslow ([email protected]). If you have any concerns in relation to safeguarding issues, or require any advice or information, please do not hesitate to contact Geraldine Steph or John. In addition, if you are aware of any historical safeguarding issues which you consider need to be investigated then please raise these with Geraldine Steph or John.”
